About Me

About me...

Like many cake designers and artists, I started out just making cakes for family and friends. Learning my craft mostly from on-line sugarcraft schools, attending specialist classes and experimenting with different edible mediums I quickly developed my own techniques for my creations.

Whilst previously known as 'Crafty Mummy's Cakes' and since rebranding in 2019 I have been involved in several worldwide sugar artist collaborations and had my work featured in various International Cake decorating Magazines. I’ve contributed to many large exhibits and displays at International cake shows, where I also demonstrate for sugarcraft companies and suppliers and I am an Ambassador for Sugarpress by Crafty Designs. I regularly compete at international level to ensure my decorating skills are kept in check and have received multiple awards for my wedding cake designs. I have also been fortunate enough to have one of my creations published in a book by a fashion designer to help raise money and awareness for Autism.

I worked several years as a cake decorator for a local cake shop where I further developed my love of making bespoke design cakes & treats, but in 2019 I decided that I needed more control over not just my working hours and conditions, but also the quality of the supplies and ingredients I use along with managing the processes for accountability, record keeping and food hygiene regulations.
I soon found the perfect space to work from and my little studio was all set to launch as a Wedding business at the beginning of April 2020, but Covid had other plans...

I'm now back to doing what I love, creating bespoke design cakes for all kinds of celebrations, but my overall passion for Wedding cakes stems from working together with couples and their suppliers to design a beautiful one of a kind centrepiece cake for their special day by using fresh ideas, modern techniques, and seeing everything finally coming together when I set up their cake at the venue.
